Course Introduction
The Al-Itqaan Tajweed Programme aims to help adult learners improve the accuracy and quality of Qur’an recitation by learning and applying the rules of Tajweed. The programme aims to strengthen participants’ confidence, consistency, and connection with the Qur’an, enabling correct recitation in personal worship and salah.
The programme is a structured and supportive learning programme designed for adult learners of all abilities, including beginners and those looking to refine their recitation.
The classes are delivered by qualified teachers in a calm and respectful environment, allowing learners to progress at their own pace without pressure or judgement.
Foundations of Quranic Arabic Reading
Foundations of Qur’anic Arabic Reading
This beginner-friendly course is designed for students taking their first steps in learning to read the Arabic script of the Qur’an. It covers the Arabic alphabet, letter recognition in both individual and joined forms, correct pronunciation of letters and vowels, and the basics of joining words and reciting with accuracy and confidence.
Alongside reading skills, the course also supports students in building confidence, focus, and motivation as they begin their journey with Qur’anic Arabic. Students are encouraged to develop consistency, strengthen their connection with the Qur’an, and cultivate patience, respect, and good character throughout their learning.
Curriculum - Tajweed Rules Covered
Assessment
Students on the Al-Itqaan Tajweed Programme are assessed in each lesson informally and are assessed formally thrice a year during the assessment weeks. Both first and second term assessments will consist of oral examinations only. Third term assessment will consist of oral and written examination.
As the course is condensed, students are recommended to revise their class notes and Quran memorisation on a weekly basis. Outside of class, students are recommended to spend a minimum of 1-2 hours of revision time weekly. Students may speak to class teachers for information on specific details regarding the exam format for each subject.

Shaykh Ibraheem Ahmad
He is an active member of several global Islamic finance bodies, reflecting his deep engagement with the industry’s development and regulatory standards. His expertise is recognized internationally, as evidenced by his role as an in-house scholar and Imam at the European Islamic Centre, (UK) and the Muslim Forum of Britain, where he contributes to academic and practical discourse.
Before founding Sharia Labs, a consultancy dedicated to advancing Sharia-compliant financial solutions, Shaykh Ibraheem played a key role in developing a range of Islamic banking products in the UK and GCC regions. His work spans advisory roles and the hands-on creation of ethical financial solutions, making him a key figure in the field. Through Sharia Labs, he provides expert guidance on Islamic finance, Sharia compliance, and ethical investment strategies, helping individuals and businesses navigate the complexities of the industry.
Ustadh Fadhlur Rahman
Ustadh Fadhlur Rahman began his studies in the foundational Islamic sciences under Shaykh Abdullah Al Mamoon Al Azhari in the UK before travelling to Egypt, where he dedicated six years to furthering his Islamic education.
During his time in Egypt, he specialised in Qur’an and Tajweed, focusing primarily on the Hafs and Shu’bah narrations, receiving ijazah bi’l-naẓar (بالنظر). Alongside this, he studied the Arabic language and a range of Islamic sciences privately under a number of distinguished scholars.
Upon returning to the UK, he continued his advanced studies with renowned scholars, including Shaykh Dr Akram Nadwi, Shaykh Dr Tahir Al Arkani, Ustadha Dr Hafidha Rabia, Shaykh Abdullah Hassan, and others.
For the past nine years, Ustadh Fadhlur Rahman has served as the principal Imam in Northwich. He has also taught at several respected institutions, including Oldham Islamic College, Oldham Muslim Centre, Blackstone Institute, Rochdale Da’wah Centre, and others.
In addition, he is the founder and director of Kahf Institute, which offers a range of Islamic programmes delivered by accredited teachers from the UK and overseas. He currently serves as a part-time Imam at Rochdale Community Mosque and is also a registered psychotherapist. He is presently completing the final year of his degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy.

Classes are delivered in a calm, structured, and supportive environment by qualified teachers. Sessions typically include teaching Tajweed rules, guided recitation, revision, pronunciation practice, and individual feedback.
Yes. Instructors provide guidance and feedback during recitation to help students improve steadily at their own pace.
Yes. Students are assessed informally throughout lessons and formally three times a year during assessment weeks.

The full yearly course fee is £120.

- Three instalments paid over 9 months
Yes. The class is designed to be welcoming and supportive for adults returning to Qur’an learning after a long break, with no pressure or judgement.
Students are encouraged to bring:
- A mushaf (copy of the Qur’an)
- A notebook and pen
- Any class materials provided by the teachers
