Guiding the Next Generation
The weekly Youth Halaqah Circle is a safe, supportive, and faith-centred space for brothers aged 14 and over to strengthen their Islamic understanding, character, and sense of identity. It is designed to support young people through adolescence by encouraging spiritual growth, critical thinking, brotherhood, and positive life choices grounded in Islamic values.
The circle provides a structured yet relaxed environment where participants can learn, reflect, and take part in open discussion. It also creates a strong sense of belonging, allowing brothers to ask questions, share experiences, and engage without judgement. Sessions are led by knowledgeable and relatable facilitators who guide the discussions in a relevant and age-appropriate way.
What is a Halaqah?
A halaqah is a traditional circle of knowledge rooted in the teachings of Islam, where participants gather to learn, reflect, and grow together. This method of learning dates back to the time of the Prophet ﷺ, where knowledge was shared in circles within the setting, fostering both understanding and strong community bonds. Our Youth Halaqah continues this tradition in a way that is relevant and meaningful for today’s young people.
What to Expect
Each session is designed to be structured yet relaxed, allowing young people to benefit from both guided learning and open discussion.
Sessions typically include:
Short reminders and reflections from Qur’an and Sunnah
Discussions on real-life issues facing young Muslims today
Character development (akhlaq) and personal growth
Opportunities for questions, sharing thoughts, and group dialogue
The informal and welcoming format encourages participation and helps participants feel comfortable expressing themselves while learning.
Developing Strong Muslim Identity
One of the main focuses of the halaqah is on nurturing a confident and balanced Islamic identity through meaningful discussions and relevant topics that help participants understand their faith in a practical and relatable way.
Young people are supported in navigating challenges such as peer pressure and social influences, making positive choices grounded in Islamic values, and developing self-discipline and a strong sense of purpose.
Brotherhood & Belonging
Brotherhood and belonging is a key strength of the halaqah, creating a welcoming environment where young people feel accepted, valued, and connected.
It helps build strong friendships based on mutual respect and shared Islamic values, while encouraging support, positive behaviour, and accountability. This sense of belonging also boosts confidence and wellbeing, reducing isolation and helping participants feel part of a caring and purposeful community.
